Health Care Reform: 450,000 Doctors Can't Be Wrong

Did you notice how many of those doctors were "MD MPH"? I realize that doctors have an obscene amount of material to come to grips with in medical school, but everyone I've ever met who has an MPH in addition to the MD has a better perspective on the totality of health and healthcare, not just the isolated treatment of specific diseases. I don't mean to slam specialists; they certainly have their place. But there is good reason for an MD to spend a few additional years studying public health.

(Full disclosure: I have neither acronym after my name, but I did spend more than five years working for a school of public health. I'm not unbiased. But about this, I am right. :))

[CAPTCHA text: "emeti" ... didn't they leave off the trailing "c"?]

Docs on speed? ...

OooHHhhhHh MPH: Masters of Public Health. Good to see there are some doctors out there with humanitarian instincts and ethics....

Just when did the Hippocratic oath include doing no harm to the insurance companies' bottom line?
