Cheney probably thought he wasn't being that obvious

But I'm sure he has his 'I-told-you-so' speech already written and locked in one of his man-sized safes...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - CIA director Leon Panetta says it's almost as if former vice president Dick Cheney would like to see another attack on the United States to prove he is right in criticizing President Barack Obama for abandoning the "harsh interrogation" of terrorism suspects.

"I think he smells some blood in the water on the national security issue," Panetta said in an interview published in The New Yorker magazine's June 22 issue.

"It's almost, a little bit, gallows politics. When you read behind it, it's almost as if he's wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point."

Conspiracy theorist that I am, or so easily can become with respect to Dick Cheney in particular, I'd go further than that. I believe Cheney has, to this day, connections that would enable him to call in a terrorist strike on America as a means of proving his point. I believe he did not do so before the election because he thought the election theft was in the bag... or perhaps someone convinced him he could do more damage by deferring such a strike until well into Obama's presidency. In any case, I am not at all convinced that Cheney's power to do great harm has diminished in the least with his departure from office.

We'll be reading about him in all the history books... under crimes against the Constitution. Hope we learn the lessons we need to for his ilk never to appear again in our government....

That's the most cold-blooded thing about Cheney ... his love for Halliburton overrides his humanity. If he ever had any.

A war for profits. People DIED so he could count more coin.

Isn't there a special level in hell for warmongers?
