When you know you have God on your side

Shouting and being aggressive to college students is truly a good way to persuade them to listen to you:
A group of evangelists was forced to leave campus Thursday afternoon when University police determined that the group posed a threat to campus safety.

Michael Venyah, founder of Soulwinners Ministries International, said he and others from the organization were told to leave campus or they would be arrested for trespassing.

Venyah and the others had set up signs next to the Student Union and Lenoir Dining Hall and began to preach against homosexuality, masturbation and premarital sex.

The group held signs with provocative messages, such as "Homo sex is a threat to national security" and "Satan says that God loves everyone."

"At some point the conversation became more heated between students and the group," said Randy Young, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.

"It was decided that it was better for the safety for all involved that these folks relocate," Young said. "They were asked to relocate for the protection of them and the students."
Because being Godlike means you get to smite people, right?

In the Pit, students reserve tables and times to advertise their clubs, etc. They shouted "Lesbians" at an all female A Capella group (the group is not a gay-identified one). And they apparently yelled "slut," "homo," etc. at people passing and even went up to tables and harassed the students there, asking the students if they were gay and saying that they were going to go to hell.

Soulwinners Ministries' presence at UNC is part of its "Save Our Students" initiative, which began last year. The group traveled to 64 campuses in 27 states.

Venyah said that the group aims to dislodge college students' misconceptions about the gospel and that they aren't always met with open arms. "Preaching Jesus and living by Jesus is unfortunately very hard everywhere."
Don't think Jesus would recognize any actions here as Christ-like, if you ask me.

Ooo, Ripley! You've got one of those cool bibles!

That must be from the "Wicked bible". It says, if I recall correctly, "Thou shall commit adultery."
(published in 1631, it earned the printer a 300 pound fine.)

Sorghum Crow, that must be the one the Republicans use.

Verily, thou shalt adopt a wide stance and a narrow mind...

They're not going to be happy until someone gets seriously hurt by freaked out evangelicals.

Then we won't know what to do.

It's amazing, mapaghimagsik, that we have let them come so close to power. Look at what they've become: pro-torture, pro-war, pro-hate, anti-tolerance, anti-Jesus.

The things the most radicalized of these 'religious' leaders say has nothing to do with God and everything to do with power.

Some have already been seriously hurt by these guys, the gays, the woman desperate for an abortion, the atheist, the scientist.

Bush hasn't brought the expected Rapture yet,and we only have a year left. Prepare for even more extreme actions.
