Hand over your papers

That you must carry with you at all times. Just your passport is not enough:
The Department of Homeland Security has placed an odious new requirement on international air travel to, from, and over the United States. Where previously passenger lists had to be supplied to DHS within 15 minutes of a US bound flight taking off, now those lists must be made available in advance and every passenger must be given “permission” by DHS to board the flight in question. Think about that for a second. A passport is no longer sufficient to allow you to travel abroad, and DHS have given themselves the ability to deny you reentry to the United States…indefinitely.
Next we need to talk about getting really cool uniforms for the Der Department ov Homeland Sekurity, maybe some really shiny knee-high black boots? And some red banners with some sort of symbol on them...

We should all be grateful to be present in the earliest days of IngSoc, um, AmSoc...

(@#$%^! it, Blogger comments won't do <strike> or <s> tags...)

I've always wondered how people do the strike through command. Thanks for finding out blogger.com does not recognize it.

I've been invited to play over at American Street and am teaching myself (HA!) WordPress. It's just enough different from blogger to keep me on my toes.

I owe you and mapaghimagsik gratitude for teaching me the little bit of html code that I know! It sure has helped.

ackshully, what we need to do is all 300,000,000 of us apply for passports at the same time, and then all of us fly out of the country and then back. all at the same time.

How about we just all drive our cars over the borders several times, all 300 million of us?

good point.

ok, revised plan: everybody pick the travel you like; we'll need walkers, drivers, flyers, probably people on trains and cruise ships... have i missed any?

Catapults! Hot air balloons, boogie boards, rafts, bicycles, skate boards, motorcycles, buses, wheelchairs, those little motorized chair scooter things....

This tightening up at the borders isn't to keep scary terrorists out, it is to keep us in.

And that is scariest of all.
