Crap. I'll check it out. It's old information (made in 2004) but it is still valid and still scary.

It's a talk about the Dominionists and the work to erase the separation of church and state.

(Thanks for all the additional links, ellroon. Curiously enough, the Google Video link is working now. Go figure.)

Much of that material was familiar to me, but I had allowed it to pass unnoticed for a few years... my bad. These people are scary, and their political philosophy (not their theology; that's not the issue) is unmitigatedly anti-American.

What can be done about them? I haven't a clue. They're well-funded and well-organized, they've successfully co-opted one of our two major political parties, and they work mostly in secret.

You know from my previous statements that I suspect Bush and his cabal will attempt something in the nature of a forcible takeover at some point, possibly before next year's elections. Do you think that is likely? Do you think the dominionists are involved? And what should we be doing now to preserve our right to religious freedom and political diversity if that should happen?

As is so often the case, I offer more questions than answers...

The reason why we can ask these tinfoil hat questions is that each time we have been confronted by the actions of the Bush administration we have doubted our own senses.

They really didn't just do/say that did they?

Yes. They did. Often. Out in the open in broad daylight with the cameras rolling.

So we get to try and point out what may or may not be coming. Presidential Directive claiming dictator-like powers? Imminent war with Iran? Convenient terrorists strikes within the US?

Sounds silly and bizarre which means it is oh-so-conceivable to Bush and his neocons.
