Sorry about that

I find I've got to put up the stupid filter thingie for comments. Some porn/pharmaceutical spammer dumped massive piles of crap in the back pages of my blog.

Who the hell is stupid enough to click on porn spam as hilarious as it is? I mean.... really?

I resent having to do this and may dump it later, but having to click and dump almost 200 idiotic spams was tiresome.

This is just a test to see the filter words are working...

I'm sure the filter will be fine. I think most posters are used to CAPCHA by now.

In the meantime, I don't think its too much of a problem.

Had to go google CAPCHA... and thanks, map, I won't worry about it then.
I think that will prevent the 80 sequential entries for porn at least...

i was originally annoyed by capchas [word verifications] but then i started doing the free-association thingy with them [hmmmm, what does this random collection of letters make me think of?] and started [cryptically] posting that in comments i left at other peoples' blogs.

"CAPTCHA" = "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart." Ya gotta have the H or you don't have the Humans. Spammers don't care if anybody clicks on their posts; their objective is to maximize the number of incoming links to their pages, to boost their ranking by the search engines.

Oops, I guess it's the T that is missing in previous posts. Poor Mr. Turing. It's not enough that he committed suicide when he was outed; he has to be omitted from acronyms decades later...

It has both, Steve, with Turing and without.

And how many brilliant minds have been wasted like poor Mr. Turing, with our idiot society passing judgment on sexuality? Poor guy.

And this new 'Blogger Steve and Blogger hipparchia' thing sounds so much like 'comrade' or 'brother' ... I didn't know I joined a cult.

then it should be CAPTTTTCHA
