Silencing the journalists

Journalists are our canaries in the mine and the only thing at this moment protecting our democracy.

Greg Palast, an investigative reporter, faces charges from Homeland Security. (Who the hell talks about America as the Homeland, anyway? This term just reeks of a bad WWII movie.)

Iraq going dark?

Buying them off, getting them fired, being indifferent to them being killed or held hostage, wanting to bomb their buildings, rewriting history ignoring facts, the neocons show their hatred of the truth.

"How are nations ruled and led into war? Politicians lie to journalists and then believe those lies when they see them in print."
-Austrian journalist Karl Wiegand, explaining the causes of the First World War. Quote taken from Crooks and Liars.
