Treating this as an open thread, Rumsfeld whisked out of France to avoid arrest for war crimes? Story is unconfirmed, I guess. I laughed anyhow.

ellroon said...

Oh please please please make it true!

whig said...

Tada!

I can has Rummyburger?

(I posted on this, crediting both of you, Whig and ellroon, for the find. That's the best LOLcats I've seen today, and not just for the funny photo!)

Thanks, Steve. Rumsfeld's pretty much on top of my personal shit list, when we get around to dealing with these criminals.

whig said...

It's nice to know he isn't really free to travel now, and never will be again.

ellroon said...

May he keep looking anxiously over his shoulder for the rest of his life!

Golly gee, are we counting on Europe for justice because our judicial system has been gutted? You bet! Do we want to see him serving time in jail! Sure do, Henny Penny!

These days, being confined to the U.S. is a kind of prison sentence in itself. To be sure, Rummy probably has the good life here, but a luxury prison is still a prison.

That reminds me, I need to update my passport.

Well, we did the Europeans a good turn dealing with their Nazis, I'm sure they'll understand we can use all the help they can give us dealing with ours.

So... after Preznit Georgie and his Unka Dick are finished with wrecking our country, maybe we can encourage them to visit ... the Hague? It's really beautiful in the (/looks at calendar) January 21, 2009.....

whig said...

I think if they go to South America, Nazi hunters will get them. Oh the nightmares they must start to have now.

I wonder if Laura will go willingly to the Bush compound in Paraguay or whether she'll split....

I actually do hope that Jenna and Not Jenna manage to make something good out of this experience and become decent people.

ellroon said...

Just watched the tivoed Leno show with Jenna on to talk about her new book. She had a sense of humor and didn't sound massively dumb. I think I see a bit of Laura's DNA working there....

whig said...

I don't think any of them are dumb. That's the thing that people assume, that because someone plays dumb they must be dumb.

ellroon said...

Bush might be clever but in a feral sort of way. He is really worried by those who have a higher education, talk well and use big words.

He may not be dumb either. But he's still an asshole.

whig said...

Keep in mind, when I was younger, in high school at least, I was a Republican. Was I dumb? No. I was an idiot. There's a difference.

whig said...

Idiocy is curable. Stupidity, not so much. Malice, well...

whig said...

It would have been, and remains, economically advantageous were I a Republican.

If I valued money over other things, then maybe that's what I would be.

It's more important to learn how to listen than to speak well. Which doesn't mean going around telling people how you're listening to them.

whig said...

It also doesn't mean listening to their private conversations in violation of law.

ellroon said...

Remember the bumpersticker: Bush is listening. Use big words!

whig said...

Or use small words if you want him to know just what you think.

ellroon said...

Yes! A LOT of 4 letter words...
