WWCD?

What will China do, now that it's been exposed as a shameless amoral indifferent government?

Pet food, human food, now medicine?

Just curious....
If people stop buying stuff from China, and China goes into an economic depression... what does that do to our huge bloated debt to them? What will happen to the world economy? We've been buying really cheaply from China for a long while, what will it do to us?

And if China goes into a tailspin, will it attack Taiwan?

How dangerous is a wounded China?

Update: Tom Legg in China of Dai Tou Laam blog notes the Chinese greed for profit is making them ignore dangerous pollution:
The forces advocating development at any and all costs have struck again.

First this spring they forced the Central People's Government to dump Premier Wen Jiabao's beloved Green Accounting, as it pointed out the negatives and costs associated with the activities of the development at any and all costs cadres.

Now, they've turned the Public Security Bureau against green activists working to save China from the consequences of the development at any and all costs cadres.

Police have detained a mainland activist who has campaigned to protect the country's third largest freshwater lake from pollution. Wu Lihong has been accused of extortion and blackmail, according to his wife. She said his efforts to protect Tai Lake had upset local authorities who benefit from the profits and taxes paid by chemical factories around the lake.

Remember, cadres make the numbers and the numbers make the cadres. Any work to make green numbers by outside sectors of the hierarchy that might unmake the cadres' careers built upon unchecked pollution and environmental devastation will face the backlash. Any outsider that might unmake the numbers that make the cadres' careers by foolishly trying to protect their homes and lives from unchecked pollution and environmental devastation will face the backlash.
