Because it's all the Republicans have left

They are attacking Obama's character.

Luckily people seem to be paying attention and aren't buying it:
According to the most recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, the percentage of Americans who view the Republican Party positively is at an all-time low. Meanwhile, President Obama’s positive rating is at an all-time high, and the Democratic Party’s positive rating is near its high.

Why? Because the Republicans have dissolved into a querulous lot of nags and naysayers without a voice, a direction or a clue, and we are not amused.

And who has surfaced as their saviors? Bobby Jindal, Michael Steele and Rush Limbaugh — the axis of drivel.

The axis of drivel. Can't say it better than that.

The axis of drivel... now that made me laugh, on a morning when it's difficult to make me laugh.

Starting with the late unlamented Lee Atwater, Republicans found that saying personally negative things about their opponents has a political effect. Now it's all they've got, all they do. And at long last their behavior is coming back to haunt them.

I've never been in the least bipartisan, but in the past I've thought that a conservative party was necessary for balance in government. Maybe so... but the GOP is no longer that party. They do not provide balance; they are unbalanced.

And as for the three blind mice, to paraphrase a famous figure, I hope they fail.

Who gets to be the farmer's wife?

The worst thing for the GOP is that we've been through eight long horrible years of stunningly awful examples of what they do when they're in power. As much as they try to point fingers at Clinton and Obama, Bush towers over all as the worst presidential disaster ever... and the GOP and all its minions supported every single thing he ever did mindlessly, without question.

Lie as they may, forget Bush as they try, we have them cheering Georgie, have their rabid vilification of those who dared speak out against the Bush administration, we have all of it on YouTube and teh internets. And we're pissed and won't forget why.
