The attempt to silence a brave voice.  Malala Yousafzai seems to have survived the attack, but I don't know in what condition.  An update 10/10.

There is a word... actually, several, but let's start with "coward" ... for people so insecure in their beliefs that they feel the need, or even the obligation, to attempt to assassinate a 14-year-old girl who disagrees with them.

Do not think for a moment that this cannot happen in America. It has already started with attacks on abortion providers. Our nation's founders bequeathed us freedom of religion, but regrettably not freedom FROM religion. Our freedom to disbelieve right out loud what the fundamentalists and various cultists preach at us has diminished to a point at which I expect to see an attempt at a religion-based revolution within my lifetime. For some greedy people, it is not enough to have found The Truth: they must compel you to find it as well. (Their Truth, of course, not your own.)
