OT, WordPress.com just (about 2 AM CT) axed my blog for an alleged TOS violation... but they didn't tell me what it is.

As usual when I move, my generic forwarding address www.yellowdoggereldemocrat.org will take you wherever I'm blogging at the moment. Right now, while I try to resolve the WP conflict, I'm at my old Blogger blog. I may be stuck there forever; who knows.

I'll link to both of your sites. You and Bryan have both had weird shutdowns by WordPress lately...

Ellroon, the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party may have climbed above the minimum threshold of 5%+ to be given a seat, but they have been around for 40+ years and only did it as a result of the 2 major parties agreeing to austerity. It was a backlash, not a real move to the right.

I use WordPress, but I host my own site, so any problems would be local to me. All I get from WordPress is the software, and that is from WordPress.org, not WordPress.com. I need to update my version of the software, but I had to update some of the stuff on my server before I could do that.

Thanks for the insight, Bryan. WordPress is a mystery to me, having only guest blogged with it briefly.

I'm uneasy every time one of these neo-nazi groups tries to climb on to a national stage. People get mean when they think there's not enough to go around, and these nazi-wannabees are the worst.

ellroon, WordPress is actually easier to use than Blogger, but I'm leaving it behind for now because I don't want any more sudden, silent blog-murders by WordPress.com . Blogger is cumbersome, but at least at the moment it seems to be working. If you ever wonder where I'm blogging, you can always paste this link directly into your browser address bar...

and you will be taken to my current blog home.

For a WordPress user, as Bryan can tell you, self-hosting of the blog server software is the best way to go. I'd do it myself, but I'm too old and easily confused to do the maintenance. :-)
