We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.By the way... the Constitution is a legal document. It is not a religious icon.

The Constitution
Note to Republicans... reading the Constitution in the House is fine. Skipping or glossing over anything is not. Read ALL the amendments too. And really listen to what it says. Knowing the history about why they dumped the Articles of Confederation would be helpful.
