Sometimes people expect too much from their health care

Care does not include sex - Dutch nurses' union. But let's not tell Congress until AFTER they vote on the health care reconciliation bill....

Now wait, this is the Netherlands we're talking about. I understand that it isn't appropriate to expect nurses to provide sex care for the disabled but surely there are qualified professionals who could be dispatched.

Yes... It's the Netherlands, bless'em. I think that's one thing the clients can pay for themselves....

I dunno, if the people voted to fund it, I can feel some sympathy for people who have no way to afford that or any other way of relieving their needs. But yeah, not in the nursing job description, generally.

Also, I wouldn't mind giving sick people free pot. Is it such an outlandish idea for Holland?

I think they give pot to most everybody....

he should've been calling social services for sex, not the public health department. A simple misunderstanding.

Amsterdam has a very legal and well maintained red light district. You'd think every Dutch doofus would have the phone number memorized.

/joke just in case the Dutch don't have a sense of humor...

The Dutch without a sense of humor? Now THAT is a wildly improbable notion! But seriously... only in Netherlands, and mostly only in A'dam, could the whole incident happen.

Why did this song get stuck in my mind after reading your comment, Steve?

Something about New Amsterdam...
