I think the thing that makes me happiest is seeing more universities putting their curriculum online. MIT has done this as well with many courses, and it leads us to a future in which children (and adults) really will be educated better than they have been in a long time.
I hope so, whig. Education is the key, but something has to get you through the courses. It is very hard to self-activate, to work independently, to want to do the boring bits.
Online could be even more distancing unless the course has group discussions, class interaction, and approachable professors.
But for those who really want to educate themselves, this will be fantastic.
