Why finding a new fossil or kicking Pluto off the list of planets

Doesn't mean science is flawed. Just work in progress:
"Science is about changing ideas based on evidence, not about ignoring evidence to conform to our comfortable ideas."

There is nothing wrong with the empirical scientific method, however what passes for science, aka "peer review" orthodoxy is often more of of a theology that should be described as Scientism, which rejects alternatives to their prevailing models.

Science has no business saying what is true, only in saying what hypotheses have been tested and with what results.
