Quick! There is no time to lose!

Bush must complete the total ruination of the United States before he runs off to Paraguay to avoid impeachment or a war crimes tribunal! Squeeze every dime from every national resource to go into their cronies' pockets. There is so much to be done and so little time left!
The Interior Department will announce a proposal Monday to allow oil and gas drilling in federal waters near Virginia that are currently off-limits and permit new exploration in Alaska’s Bristol Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. … The Virginia shore is dotted with barrier islands and lagoons, most of them largely unspoiled. The Virginia coast has been designated a World Biosphere Reserve by the United Nations, and a National Natural Landmark by the Interior Department.”

Would this be a good time to mention that those working for the various departments might want to consider their long term career prospects and do the right thing in spite of everything going on politically.

Sheesh. They just got comfortable with their own reality...telling themselves that taxpayers won't mind if they help themselves, that the world will come to an end soon so what's a little graft?

I'm sure the shredders are working overtime and there are recitations of excuses (I spilled coffee right into my hard drive, isn't that weird?) in front of mirrors.

Just a hint: I don't think the nation will buy either the 'everyone was doing it' nor the 'I was just following orders' excuses.

'I was just following orders'

On the other hand, I'd be happy to hear them say, "I was just following warders..."

Shredding may destroy paper documents, but in general it is a lot harder to destroy electronic documents. Even if coffee destroys a hard drive (and without testing, I'd guess most modern hard drives, or at least the data on them, can survive a coffee spill), there are typically soooo many copies in soooo many places in any well-maintained shop these days... something I suspect quite a few Bushists are about to find out the hard way.

Oh yes, please.
