I live in a great dark sky area in rural Vermont, and you can be sure that about 90 percent of meteor showers are accompanied by heavy overcast. It just ain't fair.
Better than Los Angeles County where even on a dark night there are too many lights to even see the Milky Way very well.
Once, when we were traveling through the desert at 4am, I made my husband pull over and got the kids out of the car just so they could see what a real night sky should look like.
