As a kid, I once stood behind the screen walls of our garage and watched my dad throw a pole-ax through the picture tube of a defunct TV about 25 feet from him. Dad was right on target, and both the sound and the sight were everything we kids had hoped for!
I have a 'net connection again, sort of, at least to the point that I'll be blogging, probably mostly daytimes and late at night. Don't ask me about AT&T. Grrrr...
Well, OK, it wasn't really a pole-ax. But it was two-headed, long-handled and scary-looking as hell. Dad threw it with (to me) incredible accuracy, but he still made us all get behind the screen. The picture tube went FWOOMP-tinkle-tinkle-tinkle... a very satisfying sound.

I won't mention AT&T because of the proximity of pole-axes and dead appliances....

My husband beat a recalcitrant VHS tape player to death with a sledge hammer behind the garage once....
Very therapeutic...
