Did somebody forget the stake and garlic?

WASHINGTON, Jan. 25 It appears that while former U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has left the Pentagon, he's still with the Defense Department, a report says.

On Jan. 4, nearly two months after he retired under pressure, Rumsfeld opened a government-provided transition office in Arlington, Va., the Washington Times said.

The Pentagon lists him as a nonpaid consultant with seven Pentagon-paid staffers helping him. Rumsfeld and his aides, including close adviser Stephen Cambone, are sifting through the thousands of pages of documents generated during his six-year tenure. He says he is undecided about his future but may write a book.

The transition office has raised some eyebrows inside the Pentagon, both in regard to the size of his staff and why the sorting wasn't done earlier.
