Afghanistan now going the way of Iraq

as Karzai weeps for his country and the children.

Why couldn't we have stayed and actually fixed Afghanistan? Saddam Hussein was corralled and contained. Why couldn't we have made Afghanistan the shining example of democracy for the Arab/Muslim/Persian/Asian countries? Why couldn't we have taken all the money we have literally wasted in Iraq and paid each Afghani man, woman, and child several thousand dollars to work for bettering Afghanistan?

Other countries would have seen the money pouring into the country, seen the quality of life rise, seen the efforts to stabilize communities and would have wanted some of this wealth as well. They would have volunteered to join such an effort. But look at us now.

So..why did we attack Iraq? Why then? Why?

Don't bother to explain. I know the lies, the real answers, and the results. But to properly heal and deal with this horror we have created, we will need the truth. Not the Bush truth, the real truth.
