A debate

I finally got around to watching it... and they both did well.

Update: Video removed by user, etc, etc. Will replace when I can find the full hour and a half of the debate, but most have been pulled.

(I had a hell of a time getting the sound high enough, finally rewiring my speakers to the old ones that go up to eleven.)

Hm... 23 minutes until Stewart gets a loaded question. This whole thing is so stacked and ugly, I don't know how much more I can watch.

Reminds me of Morton Downey Jr. used to get liberals on stage to debate him for publicity, and Jon Stewart just got taken to O'Reilly's cleaners. Not because he doesn't have good points to make, but because he isn't even allowed to make them, before he gets interrupted. Just ugly.

Well, where else would you dump missing nuclear waste?

After many attempts, the Texan who has for decades wanted to establish a commercial nu‑cu‑lar waste dump serving the whole US succeeded in sneaking a constitutional amendment past the voters (almost everything in Texas requires a constitutional amendment) and built his dump... open-pit style in West Texas, covered over with sand.

Don't you feel safer with the waste in the dump than beside the highway? What's that? you can't tell the difference? Neither can I!

Dear god... That's terrible, Steve. Hope you are downwind and miles away...

ellroon, I've only ever been to West Texas on major vacations with a friend willing to drive long distances. It ain't next door! But yes, the willingness of the state government to encourage such a thing is almost enough to make me move elsewhere to a saner state.
