Great minds, etc. ... I had the same thought yesterday, out of the blue, and posted it here.

@#$%^&^%$# !!1!! Once again, Blogger logged me out halfway through the commenting process, and after I logged in, did it come back here? Noooo, at least not right away... it demanded my mobile phone number. F**k that s**t! I gave it an empty reply, and it finally brought me back here... only to ask me for another CAPTCHA text.

Sometimes I just want to brain their programmers, and by "brain" I mean "to provide with a heretofore missing brain."

They really really want your phone number... and your social security number and your bank account and your birthday and your mother's maiden name and your political leaning and ...

It would really help them in their fine tuning what it is that you want from the internets... honest!

My mother's maiden name was the same as her married name... Irma. What? oh, you mean her family name?

During the recent battle (which we won!) over whether businesses could direct spam calls to your cell phone, I wrote in several notes to members of Congress that if I began receiving junk calls regularly on my cell phone, I'd cancel my subscription and do without. Apparently I'm not the only one who feels that way... for now, at least, the legislation was withdrawn by its sponsors (one 'R' and one 'D').

[CAPTCHA text: "outios" ... cereal in the shape of a belly button?]

Thank you. Getting ads on my cell phone would be the last straw.

(Besides all the car crashes of people who aren't expecting phone calls because they use their phones only for emergencies...)
