We need a couple a moments of silence here....

Bwahahaha! Sorry, couldn't do it.

Rove is leaving sooner rather than later:

"The rumors that chief White House political architect Karl Rove will leave sometime next year are being bolstered with new insider reports that his partisan style is a hurdle to President Bush’s new push for bipartisanship. “Karl represents the old style and he’s got to go if the Democrats are going to believe Bush’s talk of getting along,” said a key Bush advisor.

"Other elements are also at play: The election yesterday of Sen. Trent Lott to the number two GOP leadership position in the Senate is also a threat to the White House and Rove, who worked against him when he battled to save his majority leader’s job after his insensitive remarks about Sen. Strom Thurmond."

Rove is clever and can backstab his 'friends' who are trying to usher him out. Will he go quietly?

He was too clever by half, projecting a win for the elephantiasis party.
Word on the street today is that the vote was hacked but couldn't overcome the overwhelming vote. (see opednews.com)
I was thinking Karl was a little too smug in the run-up, his own math indeed. One hacking scenario is that random votes are chosen and are flipped. That would change a narrow dem victory to a very narrow repub victory.
In last week's election the dem margin was too great to be overcome by "subtle" hacks. Hurray for all who turned out.
I expect there to be some further backlash on this.

(The new pres of my company bears an uncanny resemblance to Rove. I developed a immediate dislike for him. Of course the relocation, reorganization, and further outsourcing of my work don't engender him to me very much either.)

That's what Randi Rhodes and others were saying: Overwhelm the election so any built-in tweaking of the vote won't matter. Maybe that's why some of the high profile elections weren't contested, like Allen's. Any close scrutiny would expose even more illegal activity.

And my sympathies for you having to deal with a Rovian boss. That is too creepy for words!
