Nine Eleven.

Not everything changed on that day for most Americans except our naivete. Protected by our continental isolation and good neighbors, we felt safe from others. On 9/11 we finally joined the world community, many of whom had been suffering terrorist attacks for decades. We had the door to our ivory tower brutally kicked in and came face to face with what our foreign policies had wrought.

Given a different president with a more worldly perspective, we could have taken the generous support and understanding we were given on that day and fought against terrorism. But instead .... here we are.

Here are some photographers who were there.

Watertiger was there.
