Bush and Cheney "misled" us into war with Iraq? And for that we're supposed to forgive them, hold them less culpable than if they deliberately lied to us to take us into war? Awwww, gimme a break!
We "hire" a prez and veep to possess a sufficient depth of knowledge about the specifics of international relations NOT to be wrong about these things. It does not matter what led Prez Cheney and Bush Baby to make that egregious mistake that has had over a decade of consequences... so far. If a prez takes the US-of-A to war and the results are catastrophic, well, damn that prez anyway... no do-overs, no Christian forgiveness, nothing but a short trip to political oblivion and, if appropriate, to jail. Sorry; I am disinclined to be even a little bit forgiving, especially if the prez+veep are arrogant about their actions.
