Just who is it who supports the manly macho Big Surge?

Not all the military, even amid the White House denials.

Not General Casey, who I'm sure is now looking at retirement.

More and more in Congress are getting cold feet...

So who supports the Big Surge escalation or as it known now: The McCain Doctrine?

And what does the Big Surge actually mean? Attacking Sadr?

What does the Big Surge mean to Bush?
""Bush is caught in a genuine dilemma: all his options look terrible. Staying the course...could mean an immediate increase in U.S. troops followed by a more substantial, medium-term withdrawal...[that]...would allow him to sell the idea to the American people that he gave the Iraqis one last chance to get their act together before deciding not to lose any more American lives." However, a U.S. withdrawal in the near future could lead to a broader "conflagration" that could quickly spread throughout the region. Carney concluded that, given the way the Iraq war has played out, "[w]hat we have to worry about is the terrorist infrastructure that's been enhanced or created because Iraq has been handled so badly....It may be years before it becomes evident, but eventually we will come to know of it...."

Update: Drunk Duck's Taking Stock has the cartoon.

I take a swipe at the selling of the surge myself. We've got the pundits to thanks for selling this a week or two previously.
