It's like Battle of the Bulge with a dash of Gettysburg and a teaspoon of Valley Forge!

Lieberman thrashes about for a rallying cry for the Eternal War on a Noun.

"There are people who have spoken of this moment in history as if it were the 30’s, and there are some parallels, I fear, there. People say the war in Iraq is comparable to the Spanish Civil War, and the war in Iraq, to the larger war against Islamist terrorism, comparable to the Spanish Civil War, to the Second World War, the late 30’s and the failure to grasp the growing threat of fascism in Europe until it was almost too late. The painful irony of this moment in our history, is that while in some senses it is comparable to the 1930’s, it’s also already 1942. Because Pearl Harbor [9/11], in this war, has already happened."

Of course, for clarity, you'd have to mention Verdun (Verdun, the longest battle of the First World War, ended on the 18th December. The French Army lost about 550,000 men at Verdun. It is estimated that the German Army suffered 434,000 casualties. About half of all casualties at Verdun were killed.) and Gallipoli.

The eternal War on a Noun will be just that. As we kill more presumed 'terrorists' we will make more. This is a war Lieberman, McCain, and Bush wants your grandchildren to be quagmired in.

Can you guys tell us for which noble cause yet?

LIEberman is stark raving mad I tell you!

I don't know...do you think he can be mavericky enough?

Donnie, I think Lieberman has been promised something extra crispy special. I wouldn't put anything past the Republicans at this point...

He was so close to being VP, so close! I don't think he'll rest until he's in the White House.

Maybe with a visitor's pass....

He has sucked up to McCain so much as of late that I am thinking he wants to either run with him or go to bed with him.

BTW Ellroon, what do you think of John Kerry? Do you care at all for him?

John Kerry had his chance. He would have made a wonderful president, but he was cheated out of it.

Now it is someone else's turn. Sounds brutal, but I cannot see him running again and getting anywhere let alone into the White House.

Let him be the best Senator he can be. We need those badly.

New blood, new faces, new policies. That said, I am not against Edwards running. He was overshadowed by Kerry and now is his own man.

What do you think of Hillary Clinton?

Donnie McDaniel said...

Hillary? Blech! I could never stand her. Even now, she has too much baggage. Besides, after 20 years of either a Bush or Clinton in office is enough. Talk about needing change. She also comes off as too hawkish.

She's as smart as a whip and politically adroit, but I have to agree. We cannot have anymore Clintons or Bushes in the White House. We do not need dynasties.

Ellroon, the reason I asked the question in the first place is to find out if you are Kerry friendly. I am on the hunt for possible cross posters for The Democratic Daily. we are Kerry friendly there, and I wish to try to get some people that will not bash him if chosen to post there.

Every now and then, Pamela asks me about if I know some people to cross post. I then go on a misson and hand pick people to give her a list. Sometimes, the pickings are slim. People don't really know the real John Kerry and assume things. So you can see why I ask questions first.

I have many bloggers that are regular readers at my blog. I have a few as you have seen that are contributors at my place. But I try to get the best of the best for The Dem Daily. Because that is the place where I got my start from. The Dem Daily took me in as a confessed republican coming right out of the storms. It was them and John Kerry that helped to make The Katrinacrat, as I am now known.

That blog, the people there, and John Kerry made a former Marine and republican into what you see now! How many other blogs can make a claim like that?

Wasn't ignoring the question, but wanted to think. I was passionately for Gore/Lieberman, Kerry/Edwards mainly because I was so against Bush/Cheney. I respect Kerry's background, his military record, his diplomacy, his world vision.

Often during the campaign I wanted to shake him. He didn't move fast enough to stop the swiftboating. He didn't get brutal enough against Bush's smarmy debate style. I wanted him to stop saying "I have a plan" and start demanding Bush try to answer unanswerable questions about Iraq, the economy, the erosion of civil rights, the gutting of the treasury.

I know Kerry was robbed of the election. Maybe he could have fought for it harder, but I think he was trying to avoid a repeat of the Florida debacle.

But even in this last little rumpus over a badly told joke, he pulled himself in. He said he had no reason to apologize, then the next day was apologizing. Damn! He should have made another bad joke or two!

I have no idea who I will cheer for in the primaries, obviously I have no idea who I will vote for as president. If Kerry showed up and carried the field, I would vote for him with enthusiasm.

But I don't see it happening.

But I will thank him for bringing you into the Democratic fold!

(As to cross-posting, I am new to this blogging thing and need to find my feet here. Also, as you see, I am still mainly an echo blog in gathering information. But if you need material though, have at it!)
