Misogyny let loose. After the Isla Vista shooting, the anger of those males who feel they deserve women's attention has come to the forefront. And women try to explain what a day can be like.
Southern Law Poverty Center reports on White Homicide Worldwide and begins with this chilling quote:
A typical murderer drawn to the racist forum Stormfront.org is a frustrated, unemployed, white adult male living with his mother or an estranged spouse or girlfriend. She is the sole provider in the household. Forensic psychologists call him a “wound collector.” Instead of building his resume, seeking employment or further education, he projects his grievances on society and searches the Internet for an excuse or an explanation unrelated to his behavior or the choices he has made in life.Someone who left the NRA when the bozos came in.

Well, let's see. I'm "a frustrated, unemployed, white adult male" who lives with his, ah, pre-estranged girlfriend who holds down the only job and the only earned income in the household (though we split expenses evenly, to a first approximation). Does that mean I have a short fuse and it's already been lit?
Actually, I'm due to start receiving Social Security on 8/1, when I reach full retirement age (actually that happens 8/6). But I'll still be frustrated and unemployed and white and male!
Dear god! Gaaaahhhh... Run for your lives! ... But wait a second.. You aren't sitting on top of an arsenal caressing an AK-47, obsessing over non-existent conspiracies posited by malicious talk show hosts, filled with incoherent rage, and believe that going out in a blaze of glory, taking innocent bystanders will make some sort of statement.... right? (Your rage is very coherent btw)
No arsenal here. The only things having to do with violence lately are books by Laurie R. King, who is certainly not male (nor is her protagonist, Mary Russell), and is white but (I believe) Jewish. Unemployed? Not hardly: she cranks out novels... really high quality... a couple of times a year, and has been doing that since the late Nineties. Mary Russell is, among other things, competent with a throwing knife; I'm rather glad she is fictional.
OT, for your reading "pleasure" ... here is your daily Fukushima news. Could it get worse?
Oh no...
