Big-city police departments are now equipped and trained to suppress mass protests, a police function I never imagined until Chicago 1968. Their response to Occupy has proved that. I expect worse... but no one ever accused me of being an optimist.
... and now Google has rendered Blogger comments in still smaller typefaces, a suitable barrier against old folks. Whatever happened to "don't be evil"?
Yes, I remember the heat ray thing the military proudly showed off a few years back, aiming it at a pretend group of ... not terrorists or rioters ... but peace protesters with fake peace signs. It was very insightful.
Credit where it's due, Google/Blogger seems to have gotten rid of those CAPTCHA texts that appear over a blotchy black background (say that three times fast!). Those were a serious hindrance to me.
