Fear of blow holes, the educated, jellyfish and bees.

Being afraid of education, of the educated is a sign that what you are comfortable with is wrong.

Mysterious Siberian blow holes.

How about shopping for a new body when yours wears out?

Pork production, and the need of another book like The Jungle.

No word for blue until the modern times.

The warming of the oceans means more jellyfish.

Recycling all types of plastic just became harder because China has cut back.

Bees in danger world wide.  (Thanks for the article link, Steve!)

Discussion on a college campus about the 'problem of whiteness' exposes the very problem as a white freakout occurs.

Dinosaurs to twanging bras to bright spots on Ceres.

How dinosaurs became birds.

There shouldn't be any public schools because they teach liberal stuff.

Olive oil kills cancer cells.

Slut-shamers and anti-abortionists share the same fear of women being able to control their own bodies.  And what happened after a boy twanged her bra several times.

What are poopers?  Ok, I laughed at the misspelling but the blog post is hilarious.

Supermassive black holes that shouldn't exist but do.

Portland harnesses the power of the sewers to create electricity.

Jeb Bush.

Mysterious bright spots on Ceres.  And a weird orbit of 3753 Cruithne around the Earth.

Terrorism will not destroy America.  Our hysteria about it might.

Gadgets, Gaza, and Good Grief, Oklahoma!

Masai rebel woman fighting for women's rights.

How bad it actually is in Gaza.

Gadgets that are listening to you, a little too well.

It's snowing on the east coast.  That's that white stuff you see in the pictures.  And an explanation on why it is so cold.

Women's reproductive rights the worst it has ever been since Roe v Wade.

Robert Reich: This Very Bad Deal Will Make Wall Street Richer and Bust the Rest of America The truth about the Trans Pacific Partnership.

Oklahoma decides it doesn't like history unless it lies.

What religious fanaticism will do to women's rights if carried to the logical end.  And Men's Rights activist isn't any better.  And what 50 shades of crap does to relationships. Update:  and more.

Jeb Bush is using the same people that Georgie did for foreign policy.  Remember, Jeb was an original signer of the PNAC.  I'd like to see him explain that away.

A powerful speech to three racist murderers

By an African-American judge.

Here's an astonishing speech by U.S. District Judge Carlton Reeves, one of just two African-Americans to have ever served as federal judges in Mississippi. He read it to three young white men before sentencing them for the death of a 48-year-old black man named James Craig Anderson in a parking lot in Jackson, Miss., one night in 2011. They were part of a group that beat Anderson and then killed him by running over his body with a truck, yelling "white power" as they drove off. The speech is long; Reeves asked the young men to sit down while he read it aloud in the courtroom. And it's breathtaking, in both the moral force of its arguments and the palpable sadness with which they are delivered. We have decided to publish the speech, which we got from the blog Breach of Peace, in its entirety below. A warning to readers: He uses the word "nigger" 11 times.

They've renamed High Fructose Corn Syrup

If they dilute it 10% they can call it fructose:
According to the Corn Refiners Association (CRA), there’s been a sneaky name change. The term ‘fructose’ is now being used to denote a product that was previously known as HFCS-90, meaning it is 90 percent pure fructose. Compare this to what is termed ‘regular’ HFCS, which contains either 42 or 55 percent fructose, and you will know why General Mills is so eager to keep you in the dark.
Amazing. The more crap they put in our food, the less I want to buy. I bet I'm not alone in this reaction and you'd think corporations would notice.
