It is an odd tribute to the short-term success of Obama’s recovery effort that the business lobbies now feel free to return to the old-time religion of bashing government and singing the praises of the unfettered marketplace. You might expect the corporate guys to show a little gratitude to the government that bailed them out. But that’s never been their way. They’d rather pretend that the last nine months were a bad dream.Um... NO. Thanks. We've seen where this style of capitalism will lead us and thanks to the Obama administration's efforts, we've just barely pulled back from the edge of the abyss.
I don't trust you guys anymore.
And won't ever again.
This is what they do on every business cycle downturn, they socialize their losses and carry on privatizing their profits.
ReplyDeleteAnd the rich/poor divide widens and widens...
ReplyDeleteAnd the pitchforks get sharpened....
And the pitchforks never get used.
ReplyDeleteNot if the corporations keep feeding the masses high fructose corn syrup, Fox News headlines, and fake outrage at the axis of evildoers...
ReplyDeleteAnd they'll stop, when? And why?
ReplyDeleteNever! Because more is good and the most more means you've won!!! MUhhahahahahaaa!!!
ReplyDeleteHow do we get off this ride?
ReplyDeleteChange the hardwired greed is good DNA?
ReplyDeleteChanging DNA may require some advanced techniques.*
ReplyDelete:D!
ReplyDeleteAre we ready to evolve?
ReplyDeleteAck! I'm evolving fine on my own!!
ReplyDeleteYes, but are there enough of us doing so?
ReplyDeleteI want to be optimistic so I'll say hopefully so.
ReplyDeleteBut it doesn't look like it, does it?
Give us another 3 1/2 years.
ReplyDelete*sigh*
ReplyDeleteOkay.
